About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Usually in London, Gloucester or Andalucía. I'm up for meeting people for socials and walks, good food (I'm vegetarian, but you don't have to be)
I'm not looking for a date (I've got other apps for that!) but am cool hanging out with all types of people. I'm straight.
ABOUT ME
I have lived in London 22 years around and in Spain for 3 years.
I'm helping my friends to reopen a 12th century pub next to the cathedral in Gloucester (the one from Harry Potter)
I've got a music background and go to festivals and concerts.
I speak intermediate Spanish (for an English person!) mostly-forgotten French and English, often mixing up the three. I lived in france for 9 months renovating a house with my family.
PHILOSOPHY
Try to be nice
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Meeting rather than hosting. I haven't been active for a few years but am back in London for the moment.
If you want coffee or a drink, to walk through the city, to attend a less touristic event or just some friendly advice I hope I can help you have a good experience in London.
I'm better at face-to-face or small groups than the big socials. I like good cheap food, real ale, belgian beer, wine from all over and cider from the West Country and know many places around the city to try all this.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have met some people at one of the weekly London social events, given some advice to visitors and done some walking and had lunch with others.
Interests
Music, lots of music. See below.
Food. I love restaurants, especially the cheap ones. I'm vegetarian and I like food from any country where they eat real well-prepared food.
I mainly go to concerts by small bands rather than stuff you hear on the radio. There's something great on every other night in London.
I like the countryside, hanging out with my friends.
I often go walking, and I like to cycle

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I like a real mix of all old and new music, to give you an idea yesterday I heard: Serge Gainsbourg, an amazing hip-hop and funk compilation, Coldcut, Red Astaire, Tony Allen and Jeff Mills, Lee 'Scratch' Perry, Louis Cole.
I like independent cinema but occasionally enjoy mainstream films. Favourites include Lost in Translation, Little Miss Sunshine. Recently I've seen Black Panther, Venus, Lost In Vagueness.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've seen about 3500 small bands playing gigs over the years through my work and my passion for music, and saw many bands that are very big now. I go less these days, but choose the special stuff.
Teach, Learn, Share
Drumming, concert and event promotion, computers, the English language, cycling, UK travel, London.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm up for helping out, I can help you fix broken things, and my job is installing screens, speakers and lighting. I know about independent record companies, concert and festival organisation and various music-related things. I've done lots of small business consultancy and problem solving
