About Me
Hi, I’m Can! A born-and-raised Istanbulite who loves exploring and sharing my city. I studied New Media in college and now work as a digital marketer, helping businesses get noticed on Google. I’m naturally curious and love learning about almost anything. When it comes to food, I’m a big fan of taşfırın simidi (a special Turkish bagel) and, of course, coffee! ☕
I had the amazing opportunity to study at the Krzysztof Kieślowski Film School in Katowice, Poland 🇵🇱 through the Erasmus program. Later, in 2023, I spent time in Bielsko-Biala for a digital marketing internship. These experiences deepened my passion for travel, culture, and meeting new people. Whenever I travel, I always try to eat like a local!
Back in 2019, before the pandemic, I worked as a voluntary tourism delegate for the municipality, helping hundreds of visitors explore Istanbul. I also organized English-speaking events 🇬🇧 to bring people together.
One of my future goals is to become a digital nomad and travel across South America—which is why I’m learning Spanish! 🇪🇸 No me llames gringo :) I’m always up for great conversations about travel, marketing, startups, and social sciences.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on Couchsurfing because I believe in the power of cultural exchange (and crowdsourcing) and connecting with people from diverse backgrounds. I'm a curious traveler who loves learning and immersing myself in local cultures. Through Couchsurfing, I have the opportunity to meet new people, share stories, and experience destinations from a local's perspective.
