About Me

Almost finished making my third movie. :)

PHILOSOPHY

I used to believe in having a career. Now I believe in having a series of adventures. It's better to put your energy into creating something big, rather than making something small and expending your energy trying to give it meaning. Let the work speak for itself.

Or to put it more succinctly, "Do epic shit".

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm now based in Newcastle, Australia, and it's not possible for me to host people, but I'm keen to meet fellow travelers and expats here!

Interests

Filmmaking is more than an interest - it's a lifestyle. I love watching, making, and studying films. My new movie's coming along well, so hopefully it'll lead to more filmmaking adventures.

To stay healthy I do "boxing fitness", which is basically boxing training without actually getting punched in the face.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Making a movie in Newcastle. Traveling to Romania to film the final scenes. Shooting a tv series in Russia and Ukraine for 2 months. Taking a road trip from San Francisco to LA. Shooting a music video in Toronto. Eating noodles in Hong Kong. Hiking in Riga. Editing a video 10km in the air on the way to Romania. Directing a tv commercial in Romania. Eating Hakarl in Iceland. Canoeing in Fiji. Glacier climbing in New Zealand. Playing beach football in Brazil. Eating a ridiculously tasty hamburger in New York City. Eating baguette et fromage on a park bench in Paris. Living in Berlin for a year. Living in London for 18 months. Discovering the differences between Buda and Pest. Having spicy noodles for breakfast in Thailand. Tasting the world's hottest chili in a heavy metal bar in Helsinki. Exploring Brugge by foot. Filming my third movie in some of the most beautiful bookstores in the world.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to improvise jazz and/or blues on the guitar, as I've been playing for 30 years.

I teach filmmaking, which encompasses writing, directing, editing, sound design, music writing etc. So I'm sure we'll find something to chat about!
