About Me

I am easy-going, enthusiastic, and take pleasure in life's big things as well as little things. I've lived all over and am currently residing in Mumbai, India.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

In the past I have mostly hosted (and am still happy to do so!), but I am also very excited to start getting more involved in the local couchsurfing community!

When I lived in Japan, I hosted couchsurfers all the time, enjoyed every visit, and made some amazing friends.

Interests

This section always makes me feel like a clone of everyone else on couchsurfing because really, what is the one main interest that we share? Adventure, whether that comes in the form of meeting new people or seeing new places or doing new things, that is the shared love of every couchsurfer I have met. More specifically, I love: cooking for friends, my cat Picasso, being done with student teaching, becoming a neighborhood regular, cider (even in the winter), dual-immersion schools, house plants, the nice man who owns the liquor store across the street who let me use his phone when I locked myself out of the house on Christmas Eve, running (sometime I forget this though, especially in the winter), wool socks, coffee, planning trips, and lots of other stuff. But mostly I love meeting people so we can sit down and tell each other all of these things and more.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Floating an offering filled with marigolds and a candle down the Ganges after my grandmother died. I couldn't be there with her, but I think she appreciated the gesture. I know she would have loved my travel stories.
