About Me
Hallo! I'm a Canadian musician/artist living in Oslo since 2017! My art practice is very broad: I play guitar in a metal band, I do sound design for dance productions, I compose contemporary classical music, and I create digital visual art as well. I travel a lot for my work, but I'm rarely in a place for more than a few days, which often leaves me wishing I had more time to get to know the people of a city/country and how they live. When I'm not working behind my computer, performing on stage, or installing something in a gallery, I like to go out dancing, explore art/cultural events, or read a good book.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
As I mentioned above, I travel often with my work, so I'm no stranger to the inside of a hotel room...but I enjoy travelling best when I can connect with locals. I'd much rather have dinner or go to a concert with someone than explore museums or historical buildings - when I travel I'm most interested in the living culture of a place. Couchsurfing is a nice way to connect!
Music, Movies, and Books
My music tastes are broad - at the moment I'm listening to a lot of hiphop and metal, but I also really enjoy jazz and classical music as well!
One of my favorite films is "Sorry To Bother You" by Boots Riley - it's weird and beautiful and I don't know any other film like it!
The last book I read was about the history of Live Coding, a culture of making music through writing and running computer programs in real time!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love telling stories, almost nearly as much as I like hearing them. I also like sharing art and music for those looking for recommendations! Heck, if you're really keen, I can throw in a guitar lesson as well!
As a guest, I'm very flexible and independent. I can give you the space you need but am also happy to share time together when it suits us both! I'm very tidy and clean up after myself - I have many years of experience in collective living environments and know how to share a space with others.
