About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My partner Laura and I are embarking on a bicycle tour of Baja, visiting couch surfers who’ve stayed with me in mainland Mexico, and generally adventuring through the world, relationship, and life!

ABOUT ME

I have been travelling since I was thirteen. I have enjoyed hammocks in a schoolhouse in an indigenous village in Chiapas Mexico, the floor of "Malaria House" in a tiny village in Thailand. I've lived in closed campgrounds with a travelling family, slept on benches in Amsterdam. Lived at ashrams and Osho centers in Europe and India. Snuck out to camp in the dunes in California; and until my late 20s I lived in a tipi.
Everywhere I go I meet amazing people! I love putting people up , wherever I live, and I love meeting new ones!
I am in a process of trying to follow myself and do what I feel inside me. This looks nothing like my old spiritual life, but seems more connected and grounded. I'm loving life!!

I’m a massage therapist and a certified Neuro Muscular Therapist. I’m passionate about muscular anatomy and bodywork.

PHILOSOPHY

Celebrate every day! Learn with your being, don't lead life with your mind. Make mistakes consciously, do things with the understanding that you will mess them up and see that as success because the only way to succeed is to fail. If you get it right the first time you never learn anything, you never evolve.

Also, fight fascism!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Long before I was a member of CS I would go out of my way to put up travellers. I think it's really good for people to travel and I love meeting them. The more we travel the more we are available to the realization that we really are all one people!

I wanted to mention somewhere here that in the mandatory ass-kissing section of the couch request form (why I want to meet you) you're welcome to put "cause I need a place to crash and I am traveling" I get it.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am loving having surfers. I've had almost nothing but good times. I'm careful not to overwhelm myself (so sometimes I turn people down). Travelers are so fun and wonderful. I am so glad couchsurfing.org exists. Come stay with me!

Music, Movies, and Books

I’ve been on a serious Malcolm Gladwell kick for a few years, recently read Alex Haley’s “Roots” and Kerpotkin’s anarcho communist manifesto “The Conquest of Bread”. My favorite books include “More Than Two” Albert Camus’ “The Plague”, and “Sex at Dawn” by Christopher Ryan and Cacilda Jetha my favorite film director is Akira Kurosowa. I mostly listen to hip hop and musicals (so Hamilton is like my favorite thing ever) though I enjoy a broad range of music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I walked through the beautiful pathways that snake through Kathmandu to climb to a golden stupa on a mountain. I was planning on travelling the next day so I took off my jacket because it was raining and put it in a bag so it wouldn't be soaked the next day. The walk was much longer than I expected, but I made it. it was beautiful up on that mountain. As I was walking home I looked out over the inner city famland in a long valley to see a brilliant double rainbow! It was one of the most magnificint things I've seen in my life. I then proceeded to spend a week in bed with a bad cold. Then the revolution happened, the king was overthrown and I flew back to India because the local Maoists responsibly don't like Americans.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach people about Human Design, philosophy, writing, photography, bodywork, cooking, Traveling to India and many many more things.

I want to learn to play Banjo and bluegrass and Hip Hop and music in general better!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Bodywork, cooking, fermentation knowledge, travel tips, games, origami, dish washing and general chores, bicycle maintenance!

Countries I’ve Visited

Ecuador, Egypt, India, Italy, Jordan, Mexico, Nepal, Netherlands, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In
