I wanted to join CS to meet a variety of new people from across the country and world. I love seeing places from a local's perspective, there's always something new to see and learn!

ABOUT ME

About to embark on my second year of grad school, but more so ready to soak in another year of Seattle and the PNW! I love to travel and wan't to see as much as I can while I'm able. My travel bug started in college after I visited Nicaragua and Honduras then went on to study abroad in Ghana. From the people to the food, transportation, and places we'd see - it was a defining time of my life that I will never forget! I never get tired of seeing and experiencing new things. I feel happiest when I am surrounding by positive people. I constantly feel like I'm in a rush, but it adds a little thrill to the day ;)I like waking to a sunrise and the quiet still of the morning, but also love to enjoy the night. I like to keep busy and often find myself getting by on little sleep and an energy of what I like to call, "me". One day I'll take a breather. Before you ask - I live in Seattle, and don't drink coffee. I'm always up for an adventure. I may be fearful, but there's not much I won't try at least once! It all works out in the end. I love visiting places/things that are defining of a culture. I think a lot can be said through food, and I'm a foodie at heart. One day I'd love to open my own pizza joint!

Feeling like a local, cheering for any sports team but mostly the Cubs, playing tennis, skiing, hiking, biking, exercising (just don't call it exercising), violin, trying new things, eating new food, eating good food, did I mention I like food?

I've never defined myself as a music person. I don't think I know the entire lyrics of any song but am a mighty fine hummer! I like music that is catchy, something I can feel the beat to. If I had to choose, right now I'm into indie-pop/folk music. Classical when I'm in the right mood or feeling a little nostalgic of my orchestra days. Good ol' americana/folk for sitting around the fire. But I'm really up for anything.

I LOVE a good book recommendation, and wish I had more time to read something outside of a textbook! Historical fiction or non-fiction are right up my ally. A few of my favorites: Cutting for stone, Half the Sky, Mountains beyond mountains, unbroken, the help, the Kite runner, the Harry Potter series

This is always a tough question for me. It can take very little to get me excited. Can you ask me again once we meet? If you're making me choose - I'd definitely have to include taking a midnight donkey taxi in sub-Saharan Africa.
