I live with Jacob Hayes (also on CS, with a much more robust profile https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/jacob-r-hayes ) and our inquisitive cat, Azul. We love to bike when the weather is nice, try our hands at patio gardening, and attempt to make new food and cocktail recipes. Just got a bread maker!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on couchsurfing both to give back when I can but also as a selfish pursuit. Jacob and I have an extra room with a pull out couch and we strive to share our place and good fortune when possible. But I also genuinely enjoy meeting (interesting) people and sharing time with them, even if it may be brief. Those individual encounters enrich my life and hopefully yours as well! When I'm traveling I almost always prefer the days when I get to spend time with a local couch-surfer, getting to know the city in the ways that they know it, rather than a jam-packed day full of tourist attractions. I find these more personal interactions make for fuller and longer lasting memories.

Cien años de soledad and Infinite Jest are my favorite books. Currently reading The Death and Life of the Great American City by Jane Jacobs. I love listening to podcasts: Serial, Ear Hustle, the Moth, This American Life, Reply All, Radiolab, and More Perfect are my favorite series.
