ABOUT ME

By day, I perform research in computer science, at least for now. Outside of that, I enjoy knitting, crochet, yoga, swimming, hiking, road cycling, and mountain biking. I love meeting new people and hearing all about their interesting (and hopefully unusual/strange) experiences. I also love having interesting and strange experiences.

I'd like to experience as many new things, cultures, lands, activities, as possible with the time I'm given.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm relatively new to CS, but I have participated so far by doing some hosting, some surfing, and am starting to get involved with my local CS group.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted a few and surfed a few so far...and am having a great time learning both how to be a better host and a better surfer!

Interests

I enjoy being outdoors and enjoy many physical activities, but especially these: mountain biking, road cycling, hiking, yoga, judo, swimming. I like trying new things and have recently tried indoor climbing.

I am relatively new to fiber arts, but really enjoy crocheting and knitting. I've been known to enjoy fiber arts festivals, though many of the crafts I see at these festivals still seem like magic to me.

I enjoy exploring new places and seeing interesting/beautiful things, as well as meeting many different kinds of people.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy thought-provoking movies (documentaries), as well as science fiction/fantasy movies (and books).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I took one of the last cruises down the Yangtze River before it was flooded to make the dam. The trip was amazing and filled with some strange/interesting encounters.

Teach, Learn, Share

I enjoy mountain biking, judo, crocheting, and knitting. If you have an interest in any of these, but no experience, I'd be happy to help you get started!
