About Me

Folks call me Sarah McSarahson, which I prefer to my real, less interesting full name.

Here's a random list of words that describe the kind of human I am...
Tea, cake, photography, coding, maths, space, science, non-duality, magic, festivals, flavours, travel, mothering, single malt whiskey, noise-making, curry, yoga, running, reading, music, dancing, prancing, consent, star gazing, late night chats, banter, dad jokes, Simpsons quotes, puns, dogs, birds, pig-on-a-spit, avocado-on-toast, op shopping, bush walks, swimming, crochet blankets.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To really experience a new place, I want to know who the people are, how they live, what they do with their time and where they go! I want this experience when I'm travelling, and I want to offer this to others who are travelling in my hometown.

I wanna know where the best places are to eat, where the beautiful places are, and where the good music is playing. And this is the kind of info I'd love to share with you if you're staying with me!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music is life. I like lots of things of many genres!
Boards of Canada, Four Tet, Jon Hopkins, Radiohead, All Them Witches, Colour Haze, Jurassic 5, Kruder and Dorfmeister, Ali Farka Toure, Aldous Harding, Salmonella Dub, Fat Freddy's Drop.

I love trippy sci-fi / time travel films, and beautiful animation.
Arrival, Interstellar, Gravity, Inception, Totoro, Song of the Sea, Samsara.

TV-wise, anything narrated by David Attenborough is a win. I've also enjoyed watching Rick and Morty, Sex Education, Game of Thrones, Black Mirror, Fargo, Maniac, Mr Robot, The Sopranos. I feel an instant affinity with anyone who uses Simpsons quotes in everyday conversation. If you do this also, we will definitely get along!

I am a regular at my local library. I love reading beautiful poetry, inspiring feminist texts, thought-provoking sci-fi, life-changing spiritual viewpoints, and cleverly rhyming kids picture books!
Clementine Ford, Ursula Le Guin, Charles Eisenstein, Mary Oliver, Neale Donald Walsch, Patricia Grace, Lynley Dodd.
