Overview
About Me
Hi!
I have a roommate which means I have to be extra careful when accepting people to host, so please have references if you ask to stay with me. If you're new to CS and don't have any references, please share some social media accounts so I can verify you're you! Thanks.
Also I have a cat 🐈. Short haired, if that matters if you have allergies.
I'm an audio journalist and sound designer. I do what people sometimes pejoratively called 'human interest' stories. Which makes me wonder, as humans, what do we cover that doesn't interest us?
Anyway, here's a show I did last year if you're curious. http://hyperurl.co/4496m1
Here's my website: www.matthewschneeman.com
My friend Will used to host a lot of people through couchsurfing and I thought it was a nice community and a wonderful way of seeing the world.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To aid in traveling of course. I currently can't host because I live in tiny two bedroom apartment with three people, sorry. I'll pay it forward further down the line.

Music, Movies, and Books
I made my profile in 2008 and back then this was my answer to this prompt:
"Hermann Hesse, Albert Camus, Roald Dahl, David Wain, Joesph Conrad, Christian Bale movies."
I still stand by all those creators (though I stopped watch C Bale movies when they had him play Moses, in 2014, ha). However now, twelve years or so later, if I made a list I would, hopefully, include people who aren't white and male. So this time, instead of declaring my tastes, I'll list the past three books and movies I've watched and we'll see what my tastes actually are.
Books: The Overstory, KIllers of the Flower Moon, I Was Told There'd be Cake
TV/Movies: Lupin, The Inventor, and 2/3s of the New(ish) Blade Runner but then my subscription to HBOMAX ran out.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Big bike trips, I rapped with Vanilla ice, made a clerk parody, rode a unicycle, climbed some mountains, swam under an island.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can draw every country (excluding some Pacific or Caribbean islands) Here's me doing it on Reddit. (though i'm not sure how long they'll host the video)

What I Can Share with Hosts
I know about fixing bikes and can play music fairly well so we can jam, that's pretty nice. I can garden as well and tune pianos, but I sold all my tools after I gave up that profession, so I guess I can't tune a piano anymore.
So, alas, no useful skills.
Countries I’ve Visited
Belgium, Cambodia, England, France, Germany, India, Ireland, Laos, Mexico, South Korea, Thailand
Countries I’ve Lived In
South Korea
