Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far i have mainly got to host as most of my travelling was done before i knew of couch surfing but am hoping that later down the track i will get a chance to visit both sides of the track!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have mainly hosted but have finally got to surf when I was in Canada! Hosting is great to give you a taste of other peoples cultures and countries and helps you to appreciate your own home by looking at it from another persons eyes. Surfing allows you to get the insider view and learn things about the places your visiting you won't read in any guide. Its great its really a community and culture.

Interests

Rugby Union, Basketball, Travelling, currently renovating my house, playing with the dogs and teaching the dogs to talk back. You know the usual like English but also play them french every now and again.

Music, Movies, and Books

Love pretty much all music except Death Metal and hardcore techno one of my mates is dutch and he has tried many times to convert me just can't get me there! Also have a softness for old school stuff and hip hop particularly the local aussie hip hop.

As for books tend to be historically based fiction or nonfiction or fantasy stuff like JRR Tolkien Lord of the rings and the Hobbit etc.

Movies are pretty much the same but not a fan of horror. My top ten would be Shawshank Redemption, Love actually, Star Wars, All my friends are leaving Brisbane, The hangover, We were soldiers once, braveheart, Forrest Gump, Transformers, Saving Private Ryan.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Standing on the Omaha Red Beach in Northern France with the tide out as it would have been when they landed and not a single sound or animal/human to be seen. It was quite special.

The other one was watching the wallabies beat the french rugby team at the stade de france. Being one of a very small number of wallabies supportors and of course the celebration after!

The last one was partying in a club in istanbul looking out over the golden horn and seeing the blue mosque and aya sofia all lit up. Now that was a venue with a view!
