ABOUT ME

My name is Louie Christopher Markovitz. I just graduated the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri with degrees in Psychology and Anthropology. These two studies are two of my favorite aspects of life. I love the search in understanding others as extreme as that may be. In this understanding I have chosen to practice compassion and kindness towards others, thus helping others enjoy their time on this earth. I am a healer and the current most powerfully socially acceptable role I can play is a Therapist. That is my current aim.

I bought a one way ticket to Iceland and beyond at the beginning of the Summer in 2011. I traveled to over 25 different countries, hitchiking over 10k miles, working on multiple WWOOFing farms, hiking over 500km on the Israeli National Trail and met countless amazing souls both through couchsurfing and the wide wide world. I spent a year and a half traveling and ended this incredible journey in Aman, Jordan the following year.

When I got back I focused heavily on school and mental health working as a youth care specialist in a residential home for mentally ill persons and spent an awesome summer as a wilderness therapy guide in Utah. I graduated in May and am currently kindling the love of travel and the exploration of the unknown in myself. In other words, the travel bug is coming back!

Current plans/ideas

Bicycle Touring from Nashville, Tennessee to Jesup, Georgia, attend a 10 day silent meditation retreat, and then bike some more.

Bicycle tour in China and SouthEast Asia.
