About Me
Freelance reporter. You can see my work on NBC News, The New York Times, CNN, 新华社,参考消息, Huffington Post, or RUPTLY.
I spent all of 2016 covering Donald Trump in-person for a couple different wire services, took 120+ flights and spent 210 days on the road.
I went to a French school when I was little, and grew up in China. Now I'm back in the U.S..
My normal job isn't covering politics, it's covering riots, hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, and other natural disasters.
Interests
Community-building and community organizing. I am lucky enough to see communities begin to rebuild themselves after disasters, whether they're natural or man-made. I recently covered the Colorado fires, Hurricane Irene and the Western Mass. tornadoes. I also covered the NATO protests and in Chicago and Occupy Wall Street in NYC.
Most of my time is taken up by school (I go to Rutgers University) and my many many internships and reporting work.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like to geek out and read policy reports + the news, and will listen to anything that's on the radio. My guilty pleasure movie is Ultraviolet. Don't watch it. Please.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I flew to Africa to cover Ebola.

The only real tangible skill I can teach in a few days is the basics of photojournalism.
