ABOUT ME
I am someone that is always up for a new adventure/challenge. I love meeting new people and will take any excuse to travel to just about anywhere. I have had the opportunity to travel throughout most of the US either as a teenager or for work. I work for a non-profit so there is always something going on around me. You can always find me out and about town when I am not working. (Which I do a lot of!!)
PHILOSOPHY
"One step at a time." Oh and also, "Life is about balance."
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I love meeting new people so this is perfect. Also I get to travel with my job like every month or so. They pay for my plane ticket and hotel for the "scheduled travel time" and then I stay over an extra day or two so that I get to enjoy the great destinations I am sent to. Plus there is absolutely nothing like traveling and getting the locals perspective on the city and culture and life in general...
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have not got the opportunity to surf anyones couch yet given that work normally pays for my hotels or I travel with a large group. However, hosting has been great! I got to enjoy some great conversations and introduce people to my town.
Interests
It might be easier to list what I am not interested in...
I love literature, art, movies, music, food, and people. One thing is for certain diversity is the name of my game.
- arts
- culture
- literature
- dining
- movies
- traveling
- music
- beaches
Music, Movies, and Books
My interests in movies is extremely diverse, I love everything from action like "300" to sci-fi to documentaries like "No End in Sight." My musical leanings are a topic of great discussion from my friends because they are extremely diverse but if you ask me who sang the song playing on the radio I probably could not tell you.
I read anything put in front of me. I love books!! I think that my list of favorites would go on forever so I will just list a few of the recent reads: Density of Souls by Christopher Rice, Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole, and currently reading Bridges Out of Poverty by Ruby K. Payne.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have seen so much. I think that other than the traveling and being in NYC on New Year's Eve, some of the private beaches here along the Gulf Coast. There are some places where you can just lose yourself to the sound of the ocean and emerald green water.
Teach, Learn, Share
For me learning is one of the greatest adventures that you can ever undertake, so I try to make it a point to always be learning something new. I can teach you many tings young grasshopper...
