ABOUT ME

Ahoy, Bonjour and Aloha.

My name is Matt and I am currently profile sharing with my ladyfriend, Mercedes. We are an Australian-Canadian couple with a really lucky life and a handful of super fun experiences.

MATT
I am the Australian, grew up in Australia doing Surf Life Saving, playing Rugby, and playing Guitar. After graduating from a Teaching Degree I realised I didn't want to teach in schools and decided to go off to see the world. Canada was the first Visa I googled and the rest is history. I have a habit of philosophising and mulling over details. I also feel like I can relate to just about anybody who isn't a NeoNazi or Class A Knobhead. I have worked in some incredible places and love to learn new things.

MERCEDES
I grew up in BC, Canada riding horses and loving the beautiful BC West Coast lifestyle. I went to school in Moncton, New Brunswick and have a passion for the environment, First Nations and delicious salmon. I like funny jokes and polite people who can hold a conversation.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I first heard about and joined CouchSurfing in 2009. Have Indulged in Couchsurfing twice back then and loved it! A LOT has changed since then with my personal situation and the world. AirBnB came along and changed the game. I have missed the "Host" type genuine feel of Couchsurfing and am interested to see if it is the same community I had the pleasure of experiencing those 6 years ago.

This section is kind of like a psychological trap. If you answer you are semi-narciccistic and slightly arrogant. But if you don't you are boring. Best to go with something humble, and achievable that doesn't make you seem like a boasty boasterson.

I skydived once, best thing I ever did. I highly recommend it.

Hmmm, everybody has something of value I think. I love learning new things. I have been lucky to have an amazingly diverse career, if there is something you want to learn, please let me know and we will make it happen.
