About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Work hard, party softly

ABOUT ME

Working as an academic in the municipality, I spend my free time playing music and take a great interest in contemporary as well as good old fashioned art mediated through music, films and books. I've met some lovely people in here. Many of my friends are from other countries, so I'm not unfamiliar with speaking english nor meeting people from all over the world. This is not all about me, but it's a start.

PHILOSOPHY

You'd think having a degree in philosophy should enable you to write something extremely clever here, but I haven't made it any further than living and learning and taking care of your fellow man as long as he's not looking at you for a bout of fisticuffs.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've had fun hosting a few people.
Should you be browsing my profile looking for a place to stay, I'm open to that as well of course - however that does require me to be home =)

I'm easy-going and out-going, but don't expect me to pub crawl the whole city, although it's not decidedly unlikely to happen. I can show you nifty venues, interesting museums or fancy bars around Copenhagen, where I've been living for 10 years now. Depending on my schedule I may just point you in the right directions though. If you're lucky I'll take you out to hear my band.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Meeting people locally who can point out the place to go is much better than guide books and chasing monuments will ever be. I met a lot of locals from the immense CS community in New York when I was there, and I've hosted a few times myself, it's been great fun and I love the concept.

Interests

Music, philosophy, psychology, politics, and having some good old fashioned fun around town.
Copenhagen in the summer time is amazing if the weather is right - the beach is near, the bars have tables on the sidewalks and the women are beautiful.
In the winter time I'm more secluded with books and music, and I mainly go outside to yell at the weather. Well last winter at least - 3 months of frost seemed to deter most of our global leaders from taking much needed decisions at COP15.

Music, Movies, and Books

Look at Roskilde Festivals program, and you'll get a pretty good feeling of my preferred tastes; electronic, dub, punk, rock, whichever has a sound i like and/or a story to tell. In other words it ranges from Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Marley over ACDC, Justice, Radiohead, Tool and Smashing Pumpkins.
Movies range from Batman to Woody Allen.
Books last summer was Dostoyevskijs The Idiot and Crime and Punishment, this summer it's been Houllebecq and Borges.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing was parachuting I guess. But it scared the crap out of me. I'll post a better one when I think of one=)

Teach, Learn, Share

I suppose I can teach a little philosophy and psychology as those were my subjects at uni. If you do ask me about something I can talk for a long time, so be warned=) along with that I'm a music buff, so music theory, notes, guitar technique, stuff like that.
I want to learn better french. Auch deutsch nicht zu vergessen. And Spanish.
