ABOUT ME
I'm a 25 year old researcher/graduate student at a certain Midwestern university that's best known for a former coach who punched an opposing player. Grew up in a small town in northwest Ohio, so I'm pretty grounded and yet always up for an adventure. Currently in school and running a research center that does economic development for inner-city neighborhoods. Outside of school, I enjoy working out, playing tennis, and chilling with friends (an alcoholic drink or 4 never hurts).
I love traveling, though I'm trying to convince my friends that it's not just because I love earning frequent flier miles.
Probably worth mentioning that I was previously bamboozled by a particularly aggressive spam filter, so I missed several months of requests (I'm really not a jerk, promise).
PHILOSOPHY
Just give 'em hell, kid.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Met a CS'er here in Columbus in 2007 and was fascinated by the concept. Was hosted by that friend just a few months after he returned to London. I've participated in some CS meetups around town and have assisted a few CS'ers passing through.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My first CS experience was being hosted by my friend Umer in 2007. I was also hosted by a wonderful group of people (Umer, Rainer, and Szabi) over a trip to Europe in the summer of 2009. I have hosted several folks in Columbus -- both from this website and from other outlets -- as well as participating in some informal area CS meetups.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The big buddha in Nara, Japan (Todai-ji, sometimes called The Great Buddha of Nara) -- just an amazing place. One of the columns in the temple is so large that they've bored a hole in it, the hole is large enough for people to get pulled through.
Teach, Learn, Share
I teach Geography and housing planning at Big State U already. I can also talk your head off about football (the type with the pointy ball, natch).
