Long Version
I have a background in education and was a public school music teacher for several years. I love the part of education that involves figuring out how different people think, what makes individuals want to change, what’s motivational, and how best to support learning and positive progress. Now in my 30s, I'm feeling like I need to do more to improve the environment and create a more cruelty-free world. I have been a vegan since I first learned about and fully comprehended the treatment of animals in agriculture (when I was around 12 years old), and a vegetarian several years before then. I do my best to live an environmentally conscious lifestyle, and continually try to do (or not do) even more. I look forward to a day when all the food I consume and textiles I use are grown veganically or created in a vegan and environmentally sustainable way.
I'm a traveling Alexander Technique teacher for the next few years, while I visiting and network with Veganic growers around the world. I‘m scheduling Alexander workshops for rock climbers, string students and teachers (particularly Suzuki method schools)... potentially public school teachers and runners as well. I would also like to share the Alexander Technique with Veganic farmers I plan to visit and working towards planning Vegan Alexander Technique retreats to introduce Alexander Technique to the vegan community.
At some point I would like to go back to school to study neuroscience and behavioral science in relation to education (specifically in relation to what motivates people to want to change, and what enables people to realize the change they want).
