ABOUT ME
I am a gentle adventurer. Quick to laugh, first to don a silly costume, and last go to sleep around the campfire. I am not a rabble-rouser or preacher. I am not a swift mountaineer or grand raconteur. But I do adore seeing what's around the next bend, woods, mountains, sea, desert, traveling, hiking, writing, learning, friends new and old, music, dancing, sleeping under the stars, and instigating impromptu adventures (often hilarious, occasionally precarious).
I believe travel offers the power to unpeel layers of the self down to the core... and turn strangers into friends, if only for one brief shining instant. I enjoy discovering unique ways to share a story, present an educational topic, or say hello. At the moment, I am exploring the importance of being still in one place and allowing myself to simply...breathe.

Be brave, dive into the unfamiliar with an open mind and heart

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Awed by kindness hitchhiking in Japan. Truck drivers and college students, grandparents and businessmen, broke bread, shared laughs, sang songs, and unexpectedly welcomed two smiling strangers into their homes.

Music, Movies, and Books
Anything that strikes my fancy...The Dramatics, Vivaldi, The Rolling Stones, Taken by Trees, Mates of State, Perez Prado, Ernesto Neto, Life 2.0, The Fall, and A Wrinkle In Time...classic.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Photographed my adopted neighbor family in Cairo and never witnessed such delight - their first time seeing pictures of themselves. Months later the mother died suddenly and I am eternally thankful the children have family portraits to remember her always.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to shake your tail feather. I am interested in learning anything you enjoy teaching. Let's share stories...and perhaps a glass of wine.
