À propos de moi
CURRENT MISSION
Treat every day like a vacation!
ABOUT ME
I'm an Atlanta transplant who has been living in Seoul for the past two years, first as an English teacher and now as a freelancer. I am most happy when exploring new places and documenting them through photography and writing. I really enjoy traveling by myself and going where my heart leads. My trips usually include a lot of spontaneous excursions, street foods, and magical chance encounters. I also love meeting locals and learning about the hidden gems where they live (I'd rather spend the day chatting at your favorite watering hole than hopping around major tourist spots). It's hard to describe myself here, but maybe you could get to know me better through my blog: http://meagan.in
PHILOSOPHY
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies - 'God damn it, you've got to be kind.'"
— Kurt Vonnegut
Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'd love to host, but as I live in a one-room loft, I don't have enough space. However, I have a lot of free time these days, so I'd be happy to meet up and show CSers around Seoul. My expertise is cafes, so please get in touch if you're looking for a superb vegan chai latte or the best hand-drip Kenyan around. ;)
Since I usually travel on my own, I'm looking to stay with people who can become my friends and help me see all the special things about their areas. I'd really like to be able to share meals, swap stories, and spend some time together—I'm also happy to help clean, cook, and help in any way around the house.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres
This list would be too long! I will choose my absolute favorites (but please do not think I am a snob, as I really appreciate so many things).
Books: In Watermelon Sugar by Richard Brautigan; short stories by Murakami and Borges; American classics; magic realism and local color
Movies: anything Studio Ghibli; French New Wave; sad, slow, beautiful films by the likes of Wong Kar Wai, Lars von Trier, and Michel Gondry
Music: mostly folk and dream pop, but I truly like so many kinds of music (even country and rap!)
Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue
I first traveled alone to Argentina, and there were so many moments during those three months that changed my life—hiking at Perito Moreno glacier, walking quietly through La Recoleta Cemetery, watching beautiful tango dancers perform in an underground milonga, and millions more...
Enseignez, apprenez, partagez
Though I'm not a trained artist, I enjoy making crafts and projects with friends. I could teach you how to make linocut prints or hand-sewn cloth napkins—maybe you could teach me to crochet or help improve my sketching skills. Collaboration is fun—let's make things together!
