We're two PhD students (both in the field of environmental sustainability), currently taking a much anticipated holiday while we celebrate recently getting hitched! Wooo!
Dave loves some of the rock and also the roll, and has been in bands most of his life. He loves documentaries about space and works hard on his dad-jokes which Meag finds hilarious (ed - no she doesn't).
Meag is an ex-drama-nerd, who, could she encounter a room full to the brim with kittens, would die happy. She also likes to talk about politics with anyone willing ;)

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

We're interested in Couchsurfing because there's no better way to experience what a place has to offer than by meeting some rad local people! We're not all that interested in ticking off the 'top 10' whatevers of each city we visit, but we're really keen to meet some fantastic people and discover the hidden gems of each destination we visit. We'd love to return the favour by hosting folks in Brisbane some day too.

We both love a wide variety of music, and enjoy seeing live bands. It's hard to pick favourites, but some of the bands and artists we love are The Bronx; Dirty Three; Tom Waits; Black Keys; Gay Paris; Sufjan Stevens; Cake; Future of the Left; Radiohead; Tallest Man on Earth; White Stripes..

We have quite a few favourite TV shows, like: Arrested Development, Parks and Recreation; Community, before it got a bit terrible; Game of Thrones; New Girl; Black Books; Brooklyn Nine-Nine..

One book we both love is Everything is Illuminated by Jonathon Safran Foer. Hilarious and beautiful and harrowing and wistful, all at once. Read it immediately!

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

One amazing thing we've done is finally saved up enough money for an ultimate travel adventure, after 8 years together. We also just got married! Wooo! Also, Dave once threw a dart at a dartboard and it pierced the end of another dart.. that was pretty amazing I suppose.

Food! We love good food, and are always happy to cook and share a nice dinner and a bottle of wine, and also cheese... don't forget about the cheese. Also, if you have any burning questions about the Land Down Under, we can help you out with a combined 60 years experience living in Australia =)

We don't really have any mad skills to speak of - we can't teach you to fly a plane or speak Klingon - but Dave could teach you a few guitar chords if you're interested in learning, and Meag could whip you up a tasty batch of cupcakes at the drop of a hat.
