About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To meet new people, have great experiences, see the world and have way to many friends.
ABOUT ME
I am a happy, friendly Irishman. I love music in all its forms, I enjoy meeting people and learning about them, and from them.
I enjoy a nice relaxing evening sitting in and having good chats over food as much as I enjoy going out on the town and dancing to whatever music is playing.
I'm quite easy going and open. I let other people be who they are, there is no point in trying to change anyone.
PHILOSOPHY
Take the chance, for if it slips by you, you may never see it again.
I'm trying to be more aware and conscious in my life by practicing Santosha. It's the idea that that all your happiness is right here, right now, within you. Not in your memories of the past or your plans for the future. Contentment with what you have and a positive, outward, open heart.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
A fantastic way to meet new people and make new friends. Surfing is only half the experience though, weekly meet ups in bigger cities and wise words and help in the forums are brilliant tools for any traveller.
Interests
My first love is Music. I DJ electronic music but I used to play classical piano and when I'm merry enough I like to think I remember how to play guitar! (I used to be able to, honest!)
I love food too. I am not the best cook in the world but I'm learning and I do enjoy good food with great flavors. I will eat anything and try everything. I'm very good at washing up too! I do love to help out in the kitchen and nothing smells better than fresh bread! My speciality is Irish mash potatoes - home comforts!
Also, I enjoy craft/homemade/speciality beers from small local breweries or weird and wonderful beers with strange names and exotic tastes.
I get a great kick out of traveling and meeting people from other countries, especially trying to learn their language. If I had one wish in life it would be to be able to speak as many languages as possible!

Music, Movies, and Books
I like interesting, confusing, thinking movies. Spies, Thrillers, Aliens & Scifi, Anime and Dinosaur films. And anything that has Will Ferrell in it gets a big thumbs up :)
I listen to a lot of electronic music (House, techno, progressive, melodic) but I have great respect for all different genres too; Rock, Reggae, Blues, Jazz, Indie, Acoustic etc.
But I am not a fan of Country and Western, and I don't get Morrissey. He just moans all the time.
I used to read a lot when I was younger, not so much these days. I have read Paulo Coelho and his book The Alchemist, along with a few others of his. I like the idea of being both in control of the now but the rest is all coincidence and you have to just go with it. I absolutely love Shantaram and enjoy just randomly opening a page and reading it. My favorite writer is Michael Crichton, love his sense of excitement and the way he keeps you in fear and suspense the whole way though a book.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I left my safe and secure job in troubled financial times to go see the world, without a care in the world.
I have walked with Elephants in Thailand and Rhinos Nepal, seen the the Victoria Falls in Zambia and the Iguazu Falls in Brazil and Argentina, climbed the Perito Moreno Glacier in Patagonia, explored the Karijini National Park in Western Australia, helped locals to rescue a drowning bus from a river that burst its banks in Bolivia, trekked the Annapurna Circuit in Nepal for 21 days, saw a Leopard in Chitwan National Park, watched the sun rise over the Ganges near the burning ghats in Varanasi, attended a local 3 day Hindu wedding in the country side of Nepal, DJed at an illegal rave in the middle of the desert in Peru, chickened out of doing the worlds highest bungee jump whilst on the bridge in Blaukrans, South Africa, gaped at wonder at the beauty of the Taj Mahal in Agra, India, spent a night under the brightest sky filled with the whole milkyway of stars in the Okavango Delta, Botswana, enjoyed the delights of the local herb in Amsterdam, danced at the alter of all electronic music in the Berghain in Berlin, wore lederhosen and drowned myself in beer at Oktoberfest in Munich, stared for hours at the worlds biggest fish tank in Dubai, Played percussion in an Orchestra in Ireland, sweated out to the tribal beats of La Bomba del Teimpo in Buenos Aires, picked tea on a plantation in Sri Lanka, learned Yoga, Meditation and Peace of Mind on Koh Phangan, Thailand, watched a 3 hour long Bollywood movie in Hindi, with snack break and snooze in the cinema in Mumbai, Learned how to cook Chapatis on a 5 day camel trek through the desert in Rajasthan... and so much more.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you the long lost art of speaking Irish! It's not English :)
I would like to learn your language, well the important things, like Hello, Cheers, and Where is the Toilet? :)
Sharing comes automatically when we meet. We share our experience together, we tell of stories past, we talk of adventures planned, and give insight to our ideas and beliefs through general chat. We are always sharing, we just have to remember to listen in order to pick it up.
