About Me

Cheerful, chatty and communicative. Full of energy most times, except after one of my rare twelve-hour-shifts when all I want is to sit in my bathtub with a glass of wine, listening to the sound of my own breathing pattern.

I'm an Argentinean girl originally from Buenos Aires. I have been living in Edinburgh for three years now, where I discovered a passion for the Hospitality industry. I work at a hotel in the west side of the city, and do shifts, reason why it is sometimes difficult for me to plan things ahead of time since I never really know what my working schedule is gonna be.

I am 28 years old, despite the fact that I feel like I am still 20 =) . I am a compulsive reader and a fitness lover. I do strength training, running, yoga and kick boxing. I am interested in all sorts of educative things and enjoy long, deep conversations with people (even if we just met) but I am generally shy when I am part of larger groups.

I truly enjoy the company of my cats, a glass of red wine, piano ballads, being a Spotify Premium user, spend hours trying to finally do a handstand and chopped bananas topped with almond butter.

I dislike people who talk very loudly, high humidity, Brussels sprouts and being late for work.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Well, I know what I am going to say might sound a bit cliché, but it is the truth, so here it goes: what I (truly) appreciate from CS is the chance it gives you to meet people from different corners of the planet. And yes, I mean it, as innocent as it sounds these days. When I found out what this community is all about, I just couldn't resist the concept and joined immediately. Experiencing a certain culture from the perspective of local people is priceless, and I don't think that 'traditional' travellers have that chance very often, do they?

Interests

Reading, writing, working out and going for looong running sessions (even if it rains/snows heavily. I'm pretty enthusiastic about it). Music and films. Documentaries. Art, graphic design. Nutrition, well being, health and everything related to the food industry and how we nourish our bodies. Anything that is educational and makes me reason and think!

I love nature, hiking/walking and discovering new places even in my own city. I'm all about all sorts of outdoor adventures!

I'm also interested in photography, travel journals (reading them is my guilty hobby) and cooking. I am not an excellent cook but I am a creative one and love to mix up different flavours and spices and play with textures and ingredients. Oh, and wine. I like wine and learning how to pair it with the right foods.

I love pretty much everything that is international. People, customs, traditions, languages, history, arts, politics, food. I want to see, experience, try and travel as much as I can. Let's say that when I am a 80-year-old lady I want to be able to look back at my life and say "MY GOD, what a ride!!".

My main interests when travelling: historical spots, places off the beaten path, palaces, castles, art galleries, flea markets, photography, landscapes and places where I can be in touch with nature. Chatting with locals, getting lost and obviously FOOD. Tasting the local cuisine is a priority to me!

Coldplay, Arctic Monkeys, Fiona Apple, Regina Spektor, Tori Amos, Ólafur Arnalds, Sigur rós, John Mayer, Dave Matthews Band, Aretha Franklin, Of monsters and men, Damien Rice, Muse.

Films: dramas, suspense, thrillers, psychological horror, good comedies and documentaries.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Have countless stories to tell... guess it will be better to do it in person =)

Teach, Learn, Share

TEACH: Spanish, English, Italian. Argentinean recipes, customs, traditions and slang.

LEARN: Your native language, whichever it is. Useful expressions and swear words haha. Cooking, art, politics, any sort of knowledge or skill you can share with me. Anything, really!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am a considerate and respectful person and strongly dislike people who use CS to get free accommodation. I value the concept of sharing and caring, and that's why I think I am a good guest. I would rather spend my money on a dinner, day out or evening at the pub with my hosts than on a creaky bed at a hostel's dorm.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Dominican Republic, England, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Haiti, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Mexico, Peru, Poland, Russian Federation, Scotland, Uruguay

Countries I’ve Lived In

Argentina, Ireland, Scotland
