About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To meet some great people and learn about how they live.

ABOUT ME

I live in Kailua Kona on the big island of Hawaii. The beaches, hiking and snorkeling are amazing here and I love camping close to the beach. I am learning to play the ukulele and I love the warm hawaiian people. I have lived in Hawaii, Oregon, New York, Virginia, the Netherlands and Australia. I really love to travel and talk to people from other places.

PHILOSOPHY

I guess my personal philosophy would have to be the golden rule: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. I think that is a good way to live your life because it should make you care about other people because you would like people to care about you.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I can host people now but it will be my first time hosting so I want to see how it goes.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had two great couchsurfing experiences so far. They were both highlights of my trip and I cannot imagine my trip without them. My favorite part about couchsurfing is having new friends in such a short period of time. I also had a much richer experience because I was able to meet local everyday kind of people and not tour guides or other travelers.

Interests

I try to go snorkeling at lease three times a week. I just really love the water. Watching the spinner dolphins in Kahalu'u bay is a highlight to living here. I completed my first marathon almost three years ago and I really enjoyed the runner´s high I got from training for the Marathon. My next Marathon is in December in Honolulu. I also enjoy diving, hiking and most outdoor activities. Reading and chilling too.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: The Count of Montecristo, Strictly Ballroom, Zoolander, The wedding singer, So I married an axe murderer.
Music: Classical, popular and everything in between.
Books: Agatha Christie, The geographer´s library, The messenger, I enjoy a lot of John Steinbeck´s books and really like the book I read by his son Thomas Steinbeck called A soundless Sea. Ted Dekker´s books are really great and are guaranteed to keep me guessing most of the way. Ronald Dahl´s books, Jane Austen´s books, wuthering heights, Jane Eyre. I have a lot more books in there but I guess I should just say I love to read.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I lived in Australia my boss let me fly the plane on the sheep and cattle station, not by myself! I was also at the station for lamb marking and crotching of the sheep. At the station I participated in some big sheep and cattle musters that were amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have my ukulele that I could teach you some chords or extra gear to go for a snorkel at my favorite local beach.
