About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I should get one of those

ABOUT ME

I'm 23 years old and of course, my favorite hobby is traveling. I used to take photos while traveling, but my camera broke, so now I don't know what to do... Anyways, I love music, so I can look for people who are playing music, or I could always look for more food :D I studied sociology for an associates degree, but now I'm studying business and will go to the University of Washington this year. Mostly what I do is study, work for some money, and then when the quarter ends, I travel somewhere and run out of money! Repeat the cycle!

PHILOSOPHY

I will keep living until I have learned everything there is to know and love... that's going to take a while, and if I die before that I'm gonna be pissed, shiiiiiiiet

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Traveled for 1 year and stayed at a couple different houses once I finally heard about this site. It helped me in Sweden (expensive country) and I met an amazing guy and had some drinks and felt so much better since I was fretting over how I was going to budget that country :D Since then I've had a few people stay at my house near Seattle. Some American chaps, French chaps, Swiss chaps, and a couple Korean chaps.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Danny held my brother, friend and me in Goteborg, Sweden, really great guy! calm, friendly, but very excited to talk about life. Good for relaxing over a beer and expanding the mind. Ryan held me near Osaka, Japan in a short notice situation and helped me relax my tired body after a week-long bicycle trip. I got to learn about being a foreigner living in Japan and working at the hospital and watch a movie with him. Very nice change of pace. And Alex in Osaka, who also hosted me on very short notice. wow, that was a crazy night of partying and drunkenness! But the next night was much calmer and normal haha. Remember that Alex?

Interests

I am in love with music above all else. Not a very good musician, but I love wasting hours in a park (Yoyogi Park in Tokyo is the best in the world for music) if I stumble across someone playing anything. People-watching (what better thing than traveling for that) and learning how every culture in the world is better than my own (and how mine is better than all others :D )

Music, Movies, and Books

I like foreign films because I cannot notice bad acting as easily because I am so fascinated by the foreign language and subtitles haha. Usually not action or horror, I like ones that will make me think or feel joy. Most any music with favorites out of old China/southeast Asia, North Indian and Brazillian. And of course rock and roll! Books I am most interested in right now are novels that elaborate on emotions such as happiness and the depths of love and compassion. Books seem to be much better at those than movies are. But movies are funnier :P

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

me and my friends went into a hot spring in Iceland, the top of the water had a layer of green slime stuff hahaha. It was awesome. Oh, another cool thing is going up the Empire State building. I know a lot of people have done this, but seriously it's an amazing view! And, of course, I've done a bunch of other stuff. Oh ya, another thing that stuck out to me: I was at Roskilde Festival in Denmark, and it seemed like such a lively place. But one time I was in line to use the outhouses (there must've been 20 people in line) and this one guy sneezed, so I said "bless you" and he turned to me and said "thank you, I really needed that". I think he was lonely. This was an amazing experience because it was in the prime of my big 2008 travel and I was at the festival with several very good friends and my brother and I felt so happy, and then I realized there can be lonely people anywhere. I try to say "bless you" more often :P
