ABOUT ME
The past few years of my life have been truly amazing. I did trail work in California along the Pacific Crest trail, worked as a backcountry ranger at Canyonlands National Park in Utah, skiied in Colorado and Utah, road-tripped through the southwest to Death Valley and southern California, and seredipitously landed a trails job in southern Arizona for the winter. I met lots of great people and saw so many beautiful places...
I'm now living in Maine. I came here to work for the Maine Conservation Corps, leading trail crew, and fell in love with the wilderness and rural lifestyles here. Living and working in the outdoors is a dream come true and I feel so blessed.
I'm very interested in health, spirituality and holistic medicine. I also love to make art - both painting and collage. I am a certified yoga teacher. I love to cook - lots of fresh veggies and whole foods. I'm an environmentalist and hope to become involved with some kind of Ecovillage or sustainable community in the future.
I worked as an Environmental Engineer for a few years, but became disillusioned with the work and decided to turn inward for a while to find true healing and my right path. I joined a yoga teacher training program, a meditation group, and an artist's group. I learned alot about myself during that time, and taking some time off of work to explore myself is the best thing i've ever done. I am now living a much more satisfying life, and am so much more aware of the possibilities in life! I feel gratitude everyday. I hope to learn even more and meet wonderful, inspiring people. I'd like to meet you!
PHILOSOPHY
Allow me to borrow a quote here...
"All the arts we practice are apprenticeship. The big art is our life."
-M.C. Richards
We are creative spirits, and as such we create our life situation in order to spur us on to the learning and healing we need. We are all creating our lives at this very moment... what an amazing thing!
every situation is an opportunity for growth - especially the ones that challenge you
Interests
spirituality, nature, environment, adventures, hiking, backpacking, nutrition/whole foods, organic farming, yoga, dancing, art, writing, reading, Playing music, singing and - of course - travelling!
I went on my first Canyoneering trip in November (2009) and am interested in doing more of it - plus learning to boulder or climb or similar things... basically, i'm up for an adventure and learning new things!
I would also love to continue learning guitar, drumming, and to develop my singing voice. Have been playing guitar and singing more recently and it is so much fun!
Would love to learn more about different forms of dance and various yoga styles.
