Don't judge the description - I just recently joined couch surfing, so I am not yet sure what to write about. :)

So, I am 35 years old now, mostly doing different types of legal work around Europe while being employed by several international groups of companies. I have two kids - a girl (10 yo) and a boy (3 yo). Since my very childhood my parents used to take me to all kinds of fishing trips, camping tours, walks in the woods etc., as it was kinda customary for USSR people at that time. So from that time I developed a need for travel and I hate to stay in the same place for a long time. For some time i had to postpone my traveling due to complicated budget issues, but since 28 I was able to continue with my passion. I travel a lot with my family, but couple of years ago, after purchasing my motorcycle, once a year I try to travel alone thorough Europe on my motorcycle. That is about it. Obviously I am also a great guy to spend time with and you will not be disappointed if you decide to host me. I can be a bit shy at first, but I'll get over it. :)

To be honest, I am not sure what this couch surfing is all about yet, but I hope to meet new people, make new friends, share excitement about my travels and of course learn something new from my new friends. I used to stay in fancy hotels, but it does not actually work for me. I figured, that it's kinda stupid to travel thousands of kilometers to another country, in order to just stay in the hotel or just wander through streets without any understanding of what to do. After i sent couple of days in Luxembourg with some very old friends of mine, when we were grilling, drinking wine, discussing our travel experiences and later they showed me around town, I immediately understood that this should be the correct way of getting to know new countries and new cities. I got to know about this service from a hitchhiker, whom I've picked up in Tallinn (Estonia) and drove to Riga (Latvia) - Trevor Briggeman (great guy, btw), who was kind enough to leave me a good reference to start with. So I am looking forward to the upcoming summer to actually try this service and, hopefully, make good impression on my hosts and meet some new friends around Europe.

I like motorcycles, traveling, diving, camping, fishing and I love mountains. I play pool (used to be quite good to :) ), I love good wine (mostly Italian), some times I like cooking (strongly depends on my mood though :) ) and i love a good movie in the evening.

My music taste is complicated. I somehow listen to everything - classic, rap, electric, rock, pop - you name it. Quite often I listen to jazz and blues, but overall my play list is composed from music starting from the 30s and up to 2016.

I really liked The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, Up In The Air, Love Actually, i liked the Matrix trilogy, Green Mile, Forest Gump and probably whole bunch of other movies which just do not come up at the moment.

I used to read a lot of Russian literature, but that was quite a while ago. Since I became a lawyer I read so much on daily bases, that reading something else after a hard days work seems like a joke. :) Last book I've read was probably "Notes of a Young Doctor" by Mihhail Bulgakov.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Nothing amazing, I guess, but last summer I drove roundabout 5000 kilometers in 10 days on my motorcycle. During this trip I visited Latvia, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg and France. Actually i was going to Switzerland, but during my lonely travels I felt a bit homesick and did not make it all the way. :)

I am certainly not looking for a free hotel, so I am ready to cover any expenses related to my stay, if necessary. Certainly I would love if I could share a bottle of good wine with the host and a dinner, which I would gladly help preparing, or even prepare it my self (but I would not make any commitments to that last "prepare it my self" part :) ). Anyway, costs of food, drinks and whatever else - I will gladly share with the host, or even cover completely in case the host will have any problems with that. Since I am travelling on my motorcycle, I would gladly give my host a ride to any (reasonably) desired location, if that will not be earlier than 9:00 in the morning. :)
