About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To make the world a smaller place
ABOUT ME
I graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in Iberian Languages and Latin American Studies. After living in Spain, I became fascinated by cultures and languages, and love to travel the world to see what else is out there! I am extremely social and outgoing. I love food, good conversation, and laughing. Right now, I teach people social skills so they can build strong connections. I thrive on social interaction, and would love to live in a more connected world.
PHILOSOPHY
"Have you found joy in your life? Have you brought joy to others?"
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'll definitely open my home to fellow jet-setters!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Couchsurfing is the greatest thing ever. I surfed throughout Europe Fall 2009 and again Spring 2011, and am so grateful to have met so many crazy wonderful couchsurfers along the way. Our hosts have been so accommodating, I can only try to pay it forward! I like to host people who have read my profile, so please put "Purple Monkey" in the subject line of your request, and include some detail(s)of why you think we'd get along, or you'll most likely be declined.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music... I appreciate most music. Right now I love electronic music (BassNectar, Kodomo, Amon Tobin), Lily Allen, MIA, Jason Mraz, classic rock, blues...
movies... all comedies (even the cheesy ones), independent foreign films, documentaries, brainless action-adventure movies, anything by Wes Anderson or Quentin Tarantino
books... Rumi: Book of Love, non-fiction, self-help books, Harry Potter (no shame here), pretty much all cook books, Nourishing Traditions, Four Hour Work Week, Four Hour Chef
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
skydiving...incredible. swimming under a waterfall...gorgeous.
going camping with 350 people who all worked hard to make the event happen... that was the best example of everyone contributing to put on an awesome party. I loved the communal aspect.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am fascinated by social dynamics and make a living teaching people how to present themselves well and connect with the people around them.
There is not much that I wouldn't enjoy learning!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Travel stories galore! Bad jokes! Cooking! Great conversations over wine!
