Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

Being from New Orleans, I have seen websites like AirBNB not only outprice locals from neighborhoods and erode culture, but also widen the canyon between tourists and locals. When I travel, I do not want to participate in the same isolating tourism that I see and despise in my own city, which is why I think Couchsurfing is a great platform to meet new people, participate in local culture, and something that I really support!

Música, películas y libros

Music: Latin Music--I am unashamed of my love of Reggaeton and passion for Shakira. Outside of latin music, I also listen to a lot of hip-hop and rap (including Russian rap, see OXXXYMIRON) and Turkish music (see: Sertab Erener, Redd, Feridun Düzağaç).
Television: Unhealthy amount of telenovelas--Las Aparicio, La Reina del Sur, La Niña, and Jane the Virgin, to name a few.
Books: I read a lot and I'm currently trying to read more fiction and poetry

Qué puedo ofrecer a los anfitriones

I love cooking and love sharing my New Orleans culture with everyone. Growing up, my mama taught me that it didn't matter how far away I was from my Mississippi River home because I could always recreate Louisiana in the kitchen. Would be more than happy to cook anything for you--gumbo, jambalaya, crawfish ettouffee, you name it and we can cook it together :)
