Hey there!

I am a winemaker by trade but currently am working as a Peace Corps volunteer in Benin, West Africa. My volunteer work here as a Food Security Extension Agent is varied but involves lots of grassroots level fieldwork and most of my days constitute of visits to local farms in the surrounding villages.

Besides farmwork, winemaking, and beer brewing, I am interested in gardening, hiking, thrift shopping, photography, travelling, playing soccer, and cooking.

I have done quite a lot of couchsurfing in the past but that was with my father (Andrew Brodie) and another time with a friend so this is the first time I am creating a solo profile (hence their are few reviews about me here). At my family house in Oakland we have hosted folks from Russia, England, and France, and are always eager to meet more travellers!

I look forward to getting to meet other like-minded individuals who love the idea of travel and sharing with me some of their culture!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am excited to couchsurf yet again. In my past experiences of couchsurfing with my father and a friend, I had the opportunity of meeting so many interesting individuals. Couchsurfing is a great way to mingle with locals and get a feel for the city/village/countryside you are visiting on a first-hand basis!

Hopefully we can meet and we can share and exchange our ideas, culture, lifestyle?!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have played tug-a-war with a 30+ year old man at the Barbès-Rochechouart train station in Paris as he tried to steal my suitcase.....I was fifteen at the time and still won the battle!
