Über mich
Hi! My name is Megan Downey. I grew up in a small town in the mountains and spent much of my time playing outside hiking, climbing, backpacking, and rafting. I am currently attending Western Washington University in Bellingham Washington where I am creating my own major based around environmental conservation, mindfulness, and the wild woman archetype. I am currently on a 10 month trip to study and travel. Currently I am in Peru. Next, I am headed To Nepal to trek and do a ecological restoration program and then to Australia to crate a community food justice program through building a community garden. I also hope to study traditional environmental knowledge. I hope to meet some really cool people along the way. I have traveled a few times before and the memories that really stick out for me are the people I meet the things they teach me and of corse the amazing adventures I will go on!
Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin
I am Couchsurfing because I want to meet new people and avoid the overly touristy aspect of traveling. I love backpacking, hiking, and rock climbing and am always looking for other people who share my love of the outdoor to trade stories of adventure and travel with!

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe
Two years ago I did a weeklong home stay with a family in Otavalo Equator. The home stay was intended to be a Spanish language immunisation trip so you can imagine my surprise when they spoke Quechua and only knew a bit of Spanish! At first I was scared because we couldn’t communicate very well but I quickly became good friends with the children communicating through pictures and pointing. I learned that laughter truly is a universal language and the home stay turned out to be such an amazing experience.

Yoga
Was ich mit Gastgebern teilen kann
I recently completed a 200 hour yoga teacher training and will will gladly give free yoga lessons. My favorite part about yoga is the simplicity beauty of the practice and how it is a practice truly meant to be shared. I am always looking for people to do yoga with!
