About Me
I grew up in Los Angeles (USA) and love traveling around and having new experiences. I am an easy going person--I love to make friends, try new food, be outdoors, and read. I just moved to New York City this fall to start a PhD program in Psychology, and love all things related to research, math, and social science. Right now I'm looking to couch surf for a week in January in Irvine while I work with a mentor of mine who is at UC Irvine.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Like I said, I love to meet new people! And I figure the best way to get to know a place is to be introduced to it by someone who lives there. I've really enjoyed couch surfing in foreign countries in the past, and am hoping for a positive experience in Irvine in the new year!
Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Lately I mostly listen to house and techno, but I also enjoy soft rock, classical rock, and jazz.
Books: currently reading Underground Railroad by Colson Whitehead, with Middlesex, Walden, and Shantaram up next. Old time favorites include Notes from Underground, Crime and Punishment, and Harry Potter (of course). I also love science fiction and fantasy novels.
Movies: some of my favorites from the last few years were Blue is the Warmest Color, Anomolisa, and Theory of Everything.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Good conversation and also silent companionship. I love to chat and meet new people, but am also happy to co-exist in companionable silence if you're looking for a quiet guest.
