About Me
Hi, I'm Megan and I have pretty much no idea what I'm doing with my life (kind of). I graduated from University in July (2017) with a degree in primary education, and now I'm taking a few years to travel and work abroad before I begin a full time teaching job or find something else that I love even more. Travelling is a passion of mine and I love to meet new people and have as many new and interesting experiences along the way as possible. I'm a very 'outdoorsy' person and enjoy anything that's adventurous or even slightly dangerous..haha. Photography is also something that I enjoy. When I travel I definitely take too many pictures but I like to have photos to look back at as memories. At the moment I'm just taking every day as it comes. Each day I don't know where I'm going to end up, but I think it's a good thing. It's exciting anyway! Also, is it important to mention that I'm a huge ice cream enthusiast?
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
When I travel I normally stay in hostels or airbnbs, or couch-surf. I've found that couch-surfing is a great way to meet new people, as well as experiencing the place you are in, in the true local way!

Music, Movies, and Books
I listen to a wide range of music. I don't really have a preference. I like a lot of current music that's in the charts and older music from the 80s/90s. I'll listen to pretty much anything, apart from heavy metal and some country music. If I had to name a few artists that I like, I'd say Haim, Dua Lipa, Coldplay and Milky Chance.
I also enjoy playing music myself. I have played the piano since I was 6 years old, and for many years was in a brass band and played the tenor horn and trombone. I also recently taught myself how to play the ukulele and it's now my travel companion! Guitar and drum rookie.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
How can I pick just one thing? I have so many great memories that are impossible to choose between:
I have travelled solo several times, including across South East Asia.
I did a road trip on the east coast of Australia.
I organised and completed a charity skydive.
I camped over night in the Sahara Desert, Morocco.
I taught English in Bali, Indonesia.
I au paired in Tuscany, Italy for two summers. I have travelled across almost all of Italy!
I volunteered at an elephant sanctuary in Thailand.
Teach, Learn, Share
I believe the best way to learn about a new place is to stay with someone in this kind of way. I'm constantly looking for something new to learn, and I'm always happy to share my knowledge and interests with other people. I'm currently trying to improve my Italian. I have a good understanding of it but I'm terrible at speaking it. Maybe we could help each other improve our English/Italian?
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am more than happy to help you improve your English language skills. I'm a laid back person and am happy to spend time hanging out or talking. I have loads of stories to tell!
