About Me
Hey, eveyone! I'm so exciting you're reading my profile, and I can't wait to meet all of you lovely, interesting people! A little about me, I'm originally from Southern Nevada. I have a bachelor's degree in Zoology. I love the outdoors: hiking, hammocking, longboarding. I play a few musical instruments, including the piano, ukulele, cello, and percussion. I speak English and French. I also work online as a certified English teacher.
I've love staying with a variety of hosts, and I'm always blown away by people's generosity. I have a lot of skills, and I am happy to help with projects or language exchange wherever I stay. I am also always happy to hang out and explore with new friends. I don't have any allergies, but I am a vegetarian. I don't eat meat or fish, but I do eat eggs and dairy.
I'm also a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints or as it is commonly nicknamed a Mormon. My faith means so much to me, and I love to talk about it or answer questions for anyone who is curious! I also love to learn more about other religions and I have a lot of respect for all types of faith or belief systems! If you would rather not discuss religion or spirituality (or lack thereof) that's totally fine too! :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I believe Couchsurfing offers much more than the exchange of lodging. I feel like couchsurfing gives you the amazing opportunity to enrich your life through learning. I am passionate about exploring new places, meeting new people, and being exposed to new ideas. Frankly, I just believe it's much more interesting and enriching than travelling in any other way. It's incredible to be a part of this large international community of people who love to explore.
As I've hosted, I've also found it's a great way to get a taste of traveling without ever leaving home. I love to see my home through the eyes of visitors; it seems more exciting and enriching!

Music, Movies, and Books
I like indie, folk, pop, latin, rock, and classical music. I am not a huge movie fan, but I like Alfred Hitchcock films and "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty." Some of my favorite authors are Orson Scott Card, Charlotte Bronte, and Victor Hugo. I like books, stories, and poetry.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One afternoon, while I was working as an English Teacher in China, I was walking in a big park and I came across a large promotional event/concert/party for a milk company. Dairy isn't very popular in China, so milk needs large promotional events! The people putting on the event, were very excited to see me with a ukulele (if you've ever been to China and not looked Chinese, you'll understand). So for a crate of free milk, I put on an impromptu concert at the milk party for about 500 chinese people. I sang a few songs with my uke and led everyone in a dance of the macarena.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am a certified TESOL teacher, and I have experience teaching and tutoring English to people of all ages, including toddlers. I can also teach to some degree many of the activities I listed in my hobbies. I would love to learn more about cooking, maintenance or construction skills, and new languages.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I would love to share any knowledge or experiences I have. I can teach the instruments that I play, how to cook some foods, zoology, or English.
