À propos de moi

I'm a travel junkie with an insatiable desire to see it all. I've hiked Huayna Picchu, eaten cuy like a native, taken the Tazara train from Tanzania to Zambia, salsa danced all night long, danced with half naked women at an Ngoni tribal festival, gone cliff jumping on lake Malawi, and now I'm ready for something new.

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

I'll be traveling through Europe for a few months starting in September and would love to meet some locals along the way.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

Moving to Zambia to live in the bush as the only foreigner for miles around in a pounded mud house with a grass roof, a pit latrine, borehole, no electricity, and an outdoor bathing shelter. I've had cows, pigs, goats, chickens, ducks, bats, rats, cats, snakes, dogs, millipedes, centipedes, and scorpion spiders try to share my little hut.

At night I can see every single star in the sky. I can hear drumming in the distance. The kids play in the full moon until 11 pm while their parents sleep, completely oblivious to noise. The dogs will collectively howl for 5 minutes before they settle down for the night. My neighbors bring me bunches of bananas, boiled ears of maize, and pumpkins from their gardens. We garden, fish farm, and plant trees in our nursery. It's a pure way of living and for two years, it's been all mine.
