About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I'm in London for a month, all opportunities considered
ABOUT ME
Honest, kind, compassionate, with a fabulous sense of humour. I can laugh at myself, which is very important. I'm open and accepting of everyone, and open to new adventures. I'm an artist working in sculpture/site specific installation, so on the left side of life. For money I work in museums, cause my artwork doesn't sell... not that I'm doing it for the money...
PHILOSOPHY
My philosophy is I won't eat something I can't kill myself. I have faith in the faithful and believe in the believers. I say that because my artwork investigates the idea of religious faith, something I don't have... I find that leap of faith stuff fascinating. I don't want to be converted but I love belief systems and rituals.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I quit my job and put all my belongings in storage to go travelling, so in some ways I'm hoping my 3 month trip will turn into something more... if some sort of offer pops up, I'm willing to accept... I'm not much of a planner, I'm just wandering alone and seeing what happens.
Physically... in Portugal I'm super tall, in New Zealand I'm average, in Holland I'd be short... I accept my body they way it is... no hair dye, I refuse to be selfish and vain and dye my hair whilst polluting the ocean... I'm a hypocritical vegetarian.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
none, although at home I was living in a communal type arrangement, so I had a home that had wwoofers come and go. It was super meeting people from all around the world, and some of them I've kept in touch with. So I've played host, but yet to be hosted...
Interests
I love contemporary art. I love the outdoors, I love the ocean. I love creating, reading, writing. At the moment I spend my time wandering, exploring and eating.
When I'm travelling and I hit a new city I spend the first day wandering around getting lost. I get out my map when it gets dark so I know which way to head 'home', wherever that may be. The second day I usually hit the art gallery, if I'm in the mood. If it's a nice day I'll find things to do outdoors.

Music, Movies, and Books
I read before I go to sleep. Working my way through a few classics. Don Quixote was a recent read.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Driving to Helensville, New Zealand, making a pilgrimmage to see one of Richard Serra's largest sculptures, on a hill in the countryside on a farm. So alien, so fantastic.
I've been pretty awestruck for the last month. This is my first trip to Europe. I can't believe my eyes...
Teach, Learn, Share
I met a mathematicican/nano physicist at Trevi fountain, Rome the other day. I told her I couldn't use a calculator and found mathematical equations the most beautiful abstract forms. She told me there were two ways to solve a mathematical equation... the first by working through the actual equation, the second by looking at it, seeing its symmetry and design, and solving it intuitively. That blew my mind. She could sometimes solve it both ways.
