About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To stay out of the office. Indefinitely.
ABOUT ME
My name is Megan, I am just about to set off on a six month trip to Europe and South America from Australia. I was born in the UK and lived there until I was 15 when I moved to Sydney, Australia. I have spent the last 4 years in Canberra studying, working and playing soccer. I am very much looking forward to this next chapter in my life and cannot wait to meet lots of new and interesting people in my travels.
I am currently studying criminology but taking a bit of time off to go travelling, I aim to work in rehabilitation eventually. I enjoy my studies and have been doing that as well as working full time in a sports store.
PHILOSOPHY
I used to love the idea of home, I lived in the same small town my whole life and loved it. I then moved across the world to Sydney in Australia, a comparatively huge and beautiful city. Now I am restless, and love that feeling. I dont want to stay anywhere too long, I want to move on, meet new people, taking only the good parts with me. Always moving forward to the next chapter. Maybe one day I will settle and decide I love that 'home' feeling again but I hope I have seen as much of the world as possible before then!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have not had any personal couch surfing experience but my fellow traveler has. I am looking forward to the experience and promise to update my profile as soon as I have some!
Interests
I love sport, especially soccer which I play Premier League level - looking forward to the World Cup this year and aiming to be in Italy for it, where I'm sure the atmosphere will be amazing!
I also love to read and am hoping to finish War and Peace by the end of my trip... I love good food and good wine and pretty sure I am heading to the right area for all these things!

Music, Movies, and Books
My all time favourite books are 'The Century' trilogy by Ken Follett. They combine my love of fiction and extreme love of history in a beautifully well written and historically accurate package.
Favourite movies are Remember the Titans, Walk the Line and my guilty pleasure is Mamma Mia.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I think one of the most amazing things I have experienced was when I was 14 and in Marrakesh on a school trip, my friend and I stayed up all night on the roof and as the sun was rising there was the call to prayer from so many different mosques all around us and it was the most beautiful sound in the most beautiful setting.
