About Me
CURRENT MISSION
to explore, grow and celebrate!
ABOUT ME
I'm just back from a year of travels which was interspersed with a few months here and there back in my hometown of Brighton, England, where I do freelance work in radio and youth empowerment.
I love Brighton for its creative, fun, liberal, spontaneous, friendly and slightly eccentric qualities, and I hope people would sum me up with those same words!
I'm vegetarian but very easygoing being around meat-eaters (my boyfriend Bernie is a meat-eater for a start!)
I sometimes feel I still don't know what I want to be 'when I grow up'. I love sooo many different things, I find it hard to pin down only one or two things to spend my time doing. I have a feeling I'm never going to be pinned down though - hopefully I'll have the opportunity to enjoy and do well in 'a portfolio career '- ie loads of different jobs that draw on similar skills you have.. So I'm trying different things and trying to work it out. If you're interested, my main ideas are:
* Radio (which I already work in)
* Youth empowerment / education (ditto)
* Acting (for stage or radio)
* Charity / international development work
* Silversmithing
But mainly right now I just know I need to spend my life doing something creative, that helps people, and hopefully with opportunities travel involved!
PHILOSOPHY
Happiness is when you want nothing, and you want to give. Where the wanting and desires end, and the sharing begins, happiness is exactly there.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've been hosted by at least one CSer in every country we stopped in between England and India, and it was a fantastic experience!! Really something that shows you how many amazing and lovely people are out there - aaah! :)
We have officially hosted one lovely couchsurfer so far (though I've often hosted people I only vaguely know), and we're really looking forward to loads more hosting! After surfing a lot on our way to India, I hope we've picked up on all the extra little touches that make it a lovely experience to stay somehwere :)
I'm also going along to local CS events to get to know people.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
CS really suits me, and constantly brings me lovely surprises and shows me how great people are! I've met a lot of lovely people from around the world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Climbing Sydney Harbour Bridge - especially magical for me as my great great grandfather owned Dorman Long - the company who designed and built it. I'd never realised til I went there just how beautiful it is and what it meant to Sydney. And scarily I now find myself a bridge geek who knows all these facts about it!!
Teach, Learn, Share
I taught English in India when I was younger and am happy to help anyone with their spoken / written English if they'd like.
I used to run a relaxation group for uni students, so can always teach you some basic yoga or talk about how our minds work and things that can help us feel happier / calmer. But don't worry, if this kind of thing isn't your style, I'm not gonna be offended!
I can also teach you how to say silly things in different languages, like 'I love you rubber glove' and 'I have three sausages in my handbag!' And I'm hoping you can tell me how to say these phrases in more languages - I'm kinda collecting them!
And I'm very happy to learn pretty much anything, especially if it's something you're passionate about - I'm ever curious and keen to learn! :) I
