Overview
About Me
I have a restless soul (and consequently, an extremely sleepless mind and body). I'm usually wired on coffee all day, and then up all hours of the night - thinking, writing, blogging, exploring, or just not wanting to miss a single second of life. And I've recently started to work on a travel/lifestyle blog called Restless Meg that I aspire to populate with endless stories of travel and adventure... so I love to meet others who possess the same fervor for life 😊
You'll find a more in-depth look into my life via my Instagram. Find me as restlessmeg!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have a knack for showing up in random places without a plan or any sort of idea of what to do or where to go or how to meet awesome people. And CS has already proven to be a place to meet awesome people, which coincidentally covers the other bases, too!
Interests
Music (I play cello and piano, and just generally enjoy listening to and feeling enraptured by music), language (I write or blog when I can, and adore foreign languages), social things (food, laughing, social drinking, laughing, etc.), the personal things (thinking, laughing at myself, being made to think, being flabbergasted by all of the things the human mind and body can do, etc.), and, more or less, all of the things that I haven't listed 😛

Music, Movies, and Books
While I do not have a single favorite book, I love taking the opportunity to share the books in my personal "traveling library" by exchanging books with hosts, fellow travelers, or anyone else I meet along the way. It's especially meaningful to me when someone lends/offers me a specific book that, once getting to know me, seems like something I'd enjoy or gain perspective from. If I have a particular book with me and can do the same for you, know that I will (or else I'll mail it to you later on)!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In 2012, I up and drove to Key West, FL from Michigan, parked my car somewhere, and lived without any plans or places to stay for a week. (I should have utilized CS back then 😅) Then, in 2016, I spontaneously drove to San Francisco (also from Michigan) at 3 AM with the same ferociously unstructured "plan"... but, there, I used CS for the first time and have been hooked ever since!
Recently, I spent the first 9 months of 2018 solo road-tripping the continental U.S. I toured 20 new states and 15 National Parks while working remotely, house-sitting, couchsurfing, camping, and understanding that I will never stop traveling and exploring this magnificent world for as long as I live. And as soon as I returned "home" to Michigan after that road trip, I jetted off to Europe and spent 2.5 months doing the same thing throughout 11 different countries!
