About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To learn as much as I can, meet as many amazing people as I can, at home & abroad! Also...to watch a lot of Bollywood. And career, entrepreneur-type things.

ABOUT ME

I'm just living the dream in Boulder, CO (via Chicago, IL via Austin, TX via Michigan - the husband and I move a lot).

I thoroughly enjoy adventures of the international and outdoor variety: traveling, hiking, rock climbing, skiing, kayaking, running, biking...you name it, I'll try it. Being outside is one of my favorite things. That and dogs.

I do adore traveling and all that jazz, but I also LOVE helping other people have a badass time and joining them on their adventures. Boulder, CO, where I love now, is a superb place for outdoor adventure, and whenever I'm finally home for more than a nanosecond or we aren't building onto our house, I can't wait to show people around. I'm nauseatingly social and really just love to be around people - with good doses of solitude and reflection time built in. People are awesome, and I love listening to their stories.

Solo travel, especially for women, is something I'm extremely passionate about. I want to demonstrate that solo travel is possible, safe, and wonderful.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm not at home much, but I would love to host people in Boulder, CO when I'm there. I've mostly been staying in Airbnb's when traveling lately, so meeting up with people would be awesome.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far, so good! I travel to meet people and make connections, so this type of resource is just wonderful.

Interests

Can "everything" be an interest? Ok, but for real...
Travel, adventure, hiking, backpacking/camping, basically anything outside, weight lifting (I guess I'm sort of a bro), reading everything I can get my hands on, spending quiet time just writing & observing, spending time with others, and Bollywood (no shame in that game.)

Music, Movies, and Books

I just put Pandora on and grab random books from the library shelves. It's been a good system so far. I've been a bookworm since I was a kid.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've climbed mountains and dove headfirst into new countries, but the most amazing thing? Letting go and feeling the love flow on our wedding day.

Yeah, that's a super corny answer. But sometimes, just being fully present is the most amazing thing you can do. I have tons of energy, so chilling out can be hard. Real hard.

Teach, Learn, Share

Oh god...umm...I have a large amount of Bollywood knowledge by U.S. standards, I guess (did I mention that already? :-p). I've taught ESL (English as a Second Language) before as well. I can share a lot of firsthand knowledge about the places I've traveled to, and I know a ton about travel hacking and finding cheap flights. Since I have my own business I also love answering any questions people have about freelancing.
I've also been weight lifting for a few years now, so if anyone has any questions about how to navigate the weight room, I'm your girl.
As for learning, it's one of the main reasons I travel: I want to soak up as much as I can. Experiencing things that challenge my own experiences and reality is the bomb diggity.
