About Me

One of those weird people who loves old things and animals. My life goal is to become the crazy cat lady. Before college I was an equestrian (now I'm better educated and out of shape), and like most people here I love to travel. I really enjoy meeting people--especially atypical sorts of people (don't worry; if you're typical that's cool too). I really like meeting as many people as possible and exploring new places (ask me about Zorse!)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It started with running out of money in Ireland, to be honest with you, but I immediately learned that Couchsurfing is way, way bigger than "free place to stay." Now, it's something I recommend to everyone for the social aspect. I have learned more about human kind and human kindness from couchsurfing than anything I have ever done, and I think I have become a nicer person because of it. I owe some of the best experiences in my life to the Couchsurfing community, and I can't wait until I have my own place and can return the favor.

Interests

Aspiring language nerd with a self-diagnosed Slav fetish. I studied Russian and History at Mt. Holyoke in Massachusetts, and was also learning German. I have been out of college for a bit, and will probably go back for a cultural studies MA once my brain has had a little rest. Before college I was an avid horsey person (dressage, hunt seat, eventing, etc.) and I am getting back into it. I also really like beer and rubber ducks.

Music, Movies, and Books

If you like Bulgakov, we'll be instant friends, whether you like it or not.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once managed to cut myself with a spoon, and I have been on Serbian T.V. (Not because of the spoon thing, which is arguably more interesting.) I can move my eyes independently. I brought a stuffed chameleon to my interview for admission to Harvard. I didn't get in, for some reason.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I want to cook with you and exchange inappropriate jokes. I will warn you that if you have a pet, I will turn into a complete idiot, forget what I am doing, and play with it for hours. Otherwise I will help out wherever I can.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Czech Republic, England, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Montenegro, Netherlands, Russian Federation, Serbia

Countries I’ve Lived In
