Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I right now have two enormous loads of laundry to take care of.
ABOUT ME
I teach English and started studying Spanish in high school. The two of them have given me some amazing opportunities to live abroad, for which I'm extremely grateful. I did my Masters degree in Madrid and after a year of beautiful chaos and not nearly enough sleep, I came to my present city, Cozumel, for sunshine and the island life. Now I live with my boyfriend and my dog Manchas, a taco stand stray who is adorable and chews through all the wires on my electronics chargers.
PHILOSOPHY
Make yourself uncomfortable. Learn from it. Repeat.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Not nearly enough! Unfortunately the Surfing community isn't very strong here in Cozumel, but I look forward to moving to a bigger city and eventually meeting more CSers. I was introduced to it in Madrid and miss the meet-ups and the openness of the community.
Interests
Travel, meeting people, books, football, Spanish, writing, learning, art, my dogs.

Music, Movies, and Books
Radiohead, Air, Astrud Gilberto, Pixies, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Joni Mitchell, Prince, Ella Fitzgerald, Sufjan Stevens, '80s throwbacks, Bing Crosby for Christmas, and the occasional wine-soaked Whitney rendition.
I love books. I used to feel guilty about reading them on my solo travels since I could do it just as easily at home, but one of my favorite things in the world is to sit in a park/on the beach/somewhere beautiful and far away and warm and sunny, and read with reckless abandon. Bonus points if a stray dog comes to join me.
Orson Scott Card, Margaret Atwood, Isabel Allende, Haruki Murakami, Ayn Rand, Roald Dahl, John Steinbeck, T.C. Boyle, newspapers, historical fiction, historical nonfiction.. much much much more.
Teach, Learn, Share
I teach English and can help you with your Spanish. If you pull on two ends of a banana with equal force it makes a perfect cut down the center without any of that squidgy stuff you'd expect.
