About Me

I am originally from Virginia. I moved to Seattle in 2010 to begin a new adventure. In Seattle, I finished school (I am now an elementary school teacher), developed a love for the outdoors, became exposed to all different attitudes and ideas about life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Hoping to benefit from not only saving money while traveling but also making new friends around the world while also learning about the places these people call home. Visiting a new place is often so overwhelming as far as the options of things to do. It's great to have a local’s perspective on places to go and things to do!

Interests

Anything outdoors, especially if it's sunny. Love getting outside and soaking up the sun! Hiking is also a favorite pastime, especially here in the Pacific North West.

I love to bake. If you ever host me, I'll happily bake chocolate chip cookies for you. Or whatever else you would like to request of me. Always down for a baking challenge! I'm into cooking too.

Anything active. I may not know the game or how to play, but teach me and I'm in. I unfortunately don't have the time to participate in an organized sport at the moment but I'm always down for play.

Love to read. I love reading novels, magazines, the paper, whatever. I'm a fan of nonfiction.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was given the opportunity to teach English in Macau, China for three months while I was in school. I lived in Tapai, Macau with a group of teachers and worked with three and four year olds who were in their first year of English instruction. It was a remarkable time. Being able to see the similarities and differences in every little aspect of life between the two countries was so interesting.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to cook/bake, stories, culture, knitting lessons!
