About Me

I'm a Pittsburgher by birth, a Clevelander by adoption, and a Chicagoan by very recent transplant. Currently exploring my new city while at the same time trying to explore as much as I can.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

In 2008 I was performing at a festival in Poland. My good friends from France wanted to meet me there, but hotels were booked. It was then that they discovered Couchsurfing. Their Polish host was amazing and kind, and actually spent a lot of time just hanging out with us and translating. When I got home from the trip, I had to join up. I even referred my mom who, truth be told, now hosts and travels even more than I do! We recently took a trip together to visit some Italian friends that she hosted, and it was such a blast. Couchsurfing is everything travel SHOULD be.

Interests

I'm a full-time freelance theatre artist who does everything from acting to directing to composing, conducting, and music directing- whatever pays the bills and keeps me in those sacred spaces, making art with others. So needless to say, my personal interests are very much related to my craft. Every once in a while, when I don't have to rehearse, I like to get out into nature too!

I also enjoy the NBA, which I blame whole-heartedly on my partner, who is an avid sports fan.

Music, Movies, and Books

jazz, cabaret, blues, broadway musicals, indie rock/pop, and world

love anything written by Malcom Gladwell, Michael Pollan, Elizabeth Gilbert, or Cheryl Strayed.

And I'll watch just about any movie, so long as there's popcorn!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I just finished writing a one-act musical for and about people with disabilities. It was a commission from Lyric Opera of Chicago and the entire process- from writing collaboratively to conducting in the pit- was awe striking and inspiring!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm an excellent cook and happy helper in the kitchen (mostly because I'm always eager to learn new recipes and techniques). I also love sharing long walks, and if you got a piano around, I'm happy to provide a little entertainment.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Switzerland

Countries I’ve Lived In
