About Me

My name is Meagan and I'm 33 years old. I live together with my boyfriend Dirk and our two rescue dogs Sinku and Sultan. I've studied history and have been a high school history teacher for a few years now.

I moved around a lot growing up because of my dad's job as a soldier. I grew up in Germany, worked (and lived) on a farm in Norway for a few months after finishing high school, gone to university in Groningen (Netherlands) and after working for a few years in the south of the Netherlands, Dirk and I decided to move to Curacao in August of 2016. We lived there for three years and came back to the Netherlands July 2019. Since then we live just north of Rotterdam.

I love to travel, especially backpacking! I've travelled quit a bit already and I'm looking forward to every next destination. On my current travel wishlist are Japan and New Zealand. Dirk and I both also enjoy motorcycling, we love to combine travel and motorcycling. Something we hope to pick up again once we are back in Europe. I'm also a big fan of music, whilst living in Europe I always visited lots of concerts and festivals. I also play the guitar although I haven't been playing a lot the last couple of years. Also a big fan of Geocaching!

I've been a vegetarian since the age of 11. I'm a big animal lover and couldn't live with the fact of eating fellow earthlings. Growing up we always had a lot of animals which probably contributed to the fact that I don't eat meat. My boyfriend is not a vegetarian although we eat vegetarian at home most of the time. I don't mind couchsurfers cooking meat in our house though.
