About Me

I'm a 25 year old English teacher living in Brussels and working in Mechelen. I just finished a two year stint as an English teacher with the Peace Corps in Indonesia. I love learning about new cultures and meeting interesting people through traveling. Learning languages is a passion of mine. I spend most of my spare time cooking , hiking, reading, checking out museums and going out with friends.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

After hearing about all the amazing experiences friends of mine have had meeting people through couchsurfing, I decided to give it a try. When I travel, I like to take the time and get to know the place I'm in. Through couchsurfing I'd like to experience what it's really like to live in the place I'm traveling to. Every person I meet teaches me something new, and I'd like to keep learning from all of you lovely humans through couchsurfing.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm pretty eclectic when it comes to music, and I love live music.

Book-wise I'm all over the map. I like to read something I can learn about history/culture from, so I read a lot of historical non-fiction. I'm also a sucker for true crime novels, and I have to admit that I dabble in some crime fiction and historical fiction as well. I love to read short stories (Best American Short Stories is great) and pretty much any good novel. Recently enjoyed The Misfortunates by Verhulst. I'm the type of person who always has a book with her.

I like good movies: action, comedy, drama, etc. Not so into horror films, though I can manage if there's not a lot of blood and guts.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Living in a remote Indonesian village for two years.

Teach, Learn, Share

I make a mean pie crust from scratch, and I bake a lot of pies/quiches. I am fluent in Indonesian, so if you're trying to learn or practice, I can help you out. I am always trying to improve my skills in both Indonesian and French, so if you're patient, I'd love to practice.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have some fun stories and life experiences. I'm always down for an adventure, so if you need a buddy for something, I'm your girl. I'm always down for a fun night out too!
