About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Meeting others infected with the travel bug as badly as I am

ABOUT ME

I'm 19, a vegetarian, a bit of a "granola eater", and a future English major! I want to teach in high schools. I love traveling, and have fantasies about working for the Travel Channel.... Some of my favorite places that I've been to are Puerto Cabezas, Nicaragua; Seattle, Washington; Eugene, Oregon; and my hometown of Sandpoint, Idaho. One of the places I'm really wanting to see in the near future is Vancouver, British Columbia.

PHILOSOPHY

You can sit in a classroom and be lectured, or you can take your education into your own hands. I believe in alternative education - the kind you can only get from traveling and learning from those who have traveled.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Just moved into my new place! Still kind of unpacking, but feel free to crash here with me (I might enlist your help with unpacking for a couple minutes!).
ALSO...
If you are a couchsurfer looking for a mild hike, we'll go hike Tubb's Hill. Definitely a hill (like a little, baby mountain), but worth the view (it's near the water!).

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Just bid farewell to a Couchsurfer from Chicago - great time! I hosted her here for a couple days and got to show her a little bit of Couer d'Alene.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies - Memoirs of a Geisha; Eat, Pray, Love; Shark Tale

Music - electronica and dubstep (i.e. Flux Pavilion and Bassnectar), as well as some Beatles and Bob Dylan

Books - Bhagavad Gita

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

First thing that comes to mind - Multnomah Falls near Portland, Oregon. It's absolutely breathtaking. You can see the bridge that crosses in front of the waterfall from the highway! If you're ever driving in that general area, make a point to stop the car and go explore a little bit.
