About Me

Hi! My name is Meg and I am a lover of travel, adventure, community connection and lifetime learning. I first used couchsurfing in my early 20s as a way to travel for the first time, something that was inaccessible to me in my youth due to economic challenges. Although it has been many years since I have used this platform, I have so many fond memories of the amazing individuals on here who shaped my worldview and fostered my nomadic spirit.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Now at 30, I feel very distant from the person I once was and would like to explore this community again. Currently traveling the US by rail and bike while working remotely and would love to meet locals in the places I explore when possible.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love reading. My current genre of choice is creative nonfiction.

Some recent favorites:
-Know My Name by Chanel Miller
-Becoming Lolita by Allison Wood
-The Distance Between Us by Reyna Grande
-Wild by Cheryl Strayed

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I got lost in Wind Cave National park once...then got a junior park ranger badge. An adventure that is a humbling reminder of my naivety when I first began solo travel.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to have discussions about the complex workings of the world. Having a background in anthropology and social justice, I particularly enjoy learning more about how we may be better stewards of the land and each other as intersectional human beings.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Did I mention my love for wine yet? I can share wine, lol.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Japan, South Korea, United Kingdom, United States
