ABOUT ME

I'm in a bit of a liminal phase at the moment, just moved back to the US after over 2 years in Morocco. When I figure out who I am again, I will let you know.

I know that before, I used to cook and bake a lot out of pleasure, but after a couple years of doing it out of necessity, my microwave skills are sharpening up more than ever before. I have a lot of art supplies that I don't remember what to do with - especially that book binding stuff - but the charcoal looks fun and I'll probably pick that up eventually.

Right now I'm trying to get myself ready for graduate school and looking at PhD programs in anthropology, but I'm taking this year between that and Peace Corps to work (hopefully).

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy music, but can't ever remember the names of my favorite songs or the bands that sing them...
As far as reading, my non-fiction books are mostly related to anthropology, archaeology and health. And for fiction I will usually reach for a fantasy series like Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time books, a light-hearted novel like Barbara Kingsolver's Prodigal Summer, or maybe some strange adventure like those Tom Robbins would think up. Or when I need to just kick back and relax, pretty much anything by Nora Roberts. And I always welcome recommendations!
